RICHMOND, VA — This morning, Attorney General Mark Herring’s reelection campaign launched its first television ad entitled, “Mom.” In the ad, which will air in the Norfolk and Richmond markets, Attorney General Herring pays tribute to his late mother, who raised him and his sister as a single mother. Her life experience taught Attorney General Herring a valuable lesson: when people are hurt, you need to stand up and do something.
The ad goes on to highlight Attorney General Herring’s record of working to keep Virginians and their families safe, particularly his leadership in combatting Virginia’s heroin and opioid epidemic.
The ad also promotes Attorney General Herring’s work protecting veterans and military families from fraud. In 2016, Attorney General Herring successfully led 49 other states and the District of Columbia in successful negotiations of a settlement with the retailer USA Discounters over the company’s deceptive trade practices that targeted veterans and military families. The settlement resulted in nearly $100 million in forgiven debt and restitution nationwide.
